2025 Subaru WRX Gains JDM-Only WRX S4 STI Sport R-Black Limited Edition

Subaru made a few small changes to the North America-spec WRX at the tail end of November 2024. This month, the Japanese-market WRX S4 has entered the 2025 model year with little in the way of updates, of which a special edition is the crème de la crème.
Enter the STI Sport R-Black Limited, which stands out from the STI Sport R EX in a number of ways. The list kicks off with black paint on the door mirrors and shark-fin antenna versus body color. Black Ultrasuede and red stitching dominate the interior, whereas the STI Sport R EX rocks leather in Bordeaux and Black with red stitching.

Building on the mid-range specification, the STI Sport R-Black Limited further sweetens the deal with suede-look door inserts for the door cards and the dashboard. Subaru has also upgraded the front seats to Recaros. The driver’s seat gets 8-way power adjustments.

Including the 10% consumption tax, prospective customers will have to shell out 5,302,000 yen or 34,735 dollars at current exchange rates. By comparison, the WRX tS can be yours for a cool $45,705 before the $1,170 destination charge. 5,027,000 yen is the starting price of the STI Sport R EX, whereas 4,477,000 yen get you the base GT-H EX.
