Taylor Bourne yesterday buckled up for the ride of his life; racing a Subaru Impreza WRX in a rally honouring his late father, legend Possum Bourne.
The 18-year-old teamed up with his step-dad, Rodney MP Mark Mitchell, in the 10th Anniversary Possum Bourne Memorial Rally in and around Possum’s home town of Pukekohe.
Possum Bourne died aged just 47 after a non-competition crash on Waiorau Snow Farm Road, near Cardrona, in April 2003. Taylor was eight at the time.
