In case you somehow haven’t heard, Ken Block is not going to be driving in the next Gymkhana video. He’s stepped aside to let Travis Pastrana have a go at it. Instead of a Ford product, Subaru is stepping up to provide the car. And what a car it is.
Vermont SportsCar, the builders behind Pastrana’s wild new custom WRX STI, stopped by the Hoonigan headquarters so we could get an up-close look at how it differs from your standard STI rallycross car. The upgrades are immediately obvious—there are a ton of extra aero bits tacked onto the body, some of which are actively adjustable. There’s carbon fiber everywhere, all built in-house at Vermont SportsCar. It covers the body panels, hood, wings, and even the underfloor protection.
