Subaru’s motorsports and performance-car division—that’s Subaru Tecnica International, better known as STI—turns 30 this year. Well, actually, it turns 31, but the Japanese calendar starts in April, so technically, the outfit is 30 despite having started out in 1988. But that’s math, and math is unexciting. More exciting is that to celebrate its big birthday, STI hosted a huge gathering for fans and vehicle owners at Fuji International Speedway outside Tokyo, Japan, and we were invited.
