I’ve spent a lot of time in Subaru WRX STIs lately, and it’s turned out to be enlightening.
My first encounter came in British Columbia, where I drove a 2016 WRX STI in the top-level Sport-tech trim from Vancouver to Whistler, along the Sea to Sky Highway.
It marked my first visit to the area, and that drive will forever be one of my most memorable. The car’s beautifully balanced 2.5 L, four-cylinder boxer engine and go-kart like handling qualities made Hwy. 99’s undulating hills and curves a blast to navigate. At times, I was enjoying the drive so much that I almost forgot to take in the breathtaking views. The whole experience was ethereal.
